Applying for Assistance from FEMA
Individuals who were impacted by the tornadoes should apply for FEMA assistance. You can apply in the following ways:

Constituents may call the registration phone number at 1-800-621-3362; those who have a speech disability or hearing loss and use TTY, call 1-800-462-7585 directly; for those who use 711 or Video Relay Service (VRS), call 1-800-621-3362.
Individual Assistance - IHP: The FEMA Individual Assistance page provides detailed information on the Individuals and Households Program (IHP), which offers financial aid and direct services to eligible individuals and households affected by disasters
Key features of the IHP include:
- Housing Assistance: Support for temporary housing, rental assistance, lodging expense reimbursement, and funds for repairing or replacing disaster-damaged primary residences.
- Other Needs Assistance: Financial aid for essential personal property losses, medical and dental expenses, funeral costs, childcare, and other disaster-related expenses.
- Serious Needs Assistance: A flexible payment to address immediate needs such as food, water, baby formula, and medication.
- Displacement Assistance: Funds to help with immediate housing needs if you cannot return to your home due to the disaster.
