Disaster Relief

Background

Following the deadly May 2025 tornadoes, Congressman Bell has worked tirelessly to provide federal dollars and overhaul federal disaster relief programs and services. . Government bureaucracy should not stand in the way of ensuring people can get their disaster assistance when they need it most. 

Legislative Actions

  • Introduced the Relief Without Delay Act, a bill to strengthen our nation's disaster preparedness, response, and long-term recovery while ensuring that disaster survivors are never caught in the middle of a government shutdown.
  • Introduced the Tornado Preparedness Act to modernize tornado forecasting, warning systems, and emergency coordination through FEMA and NOAA  
  • Introduced the FEMA Accountability Act to improve transparency in disaster spending  
  • Led a resolution recognizing the work of career civil servants working for TSA FEMA, and CISA.
