Bell Releases Statement Following Announcement of Ceasefire Agreement

“Today’s announcement of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas is a critical step toward ending the violence, providing immediate relief to those impacted, and ensuring the safe return of the hostages. For the families of those held captive, this marks a long-awaited moment of relief after a period of unimaginable anguish, and their reunification must remain an urgent priority.

“At the same time, this moment calls for deep reflection on the devastating loss of life and destruction in Gaza, where the humanitarian crisis is dire. It is imperative that we move swiftly to deliver aid and support to those in need. Equally, we must prioritize ensuring Israel’s security and protecting its citizens as part of the broader effort to achieve lasting peace in the region. This ceasefire represents an opportunity to recommit to the challenging but necessary work of building a future grounded in safety, dignity, and justice for all.”
