Rep. Bell Hosts Labor Roundtable Discussion with St. Louis Union Members

Thursday, February 20, 2025

Washington, D.C.— Today, Representative Wesley Bell (D-Mo.) met with union members from across the St. Louis region at Iron Workers Local 396 to discuss issues surrounding labor rights under the new administration including threats to the right to organize and collectively bargain. They also discussed Bell’s efforts to protect civil service members as well as opportunities for expanding workforce and apprenticeship training.

“Today, I had the honor of sitting down with labor leaders from across the St. Louis region to discuss how the Trump administration’s cuts will harm working families,” said Rep. Bell. “Throughout our conversation, union leaders emphasized that the administration’s anti-worker policies have hurt Missouri families and underscored the vital role organized labor played in building the middle class—a legacy I am committed to fighting relentlessly to protect.”

As a former union member himself, Rep. Bell has been a strong supporter of organized labor and is committed to fighting for pro worker legislation like the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act. Bell also railed against the potential cuts to the Federal workforce that harm workers and our national security.
